Description

This hand painted Scandinavian oval strong box, circa 1850, is a good quality piece of rustic Swedish pine craft work with a domed top and oval body encased in original metal strap work. The original blue paint has faded attractively over time, while the interior is painted white. The lock has been removed, and there are expected losses to the metal work and surface marks to the woodwork; it still functions as practical storage today.

DOME TOP AND OVAL SHAPED BODY, ENCASED IN ORIGINAL METAL STRAP WORK. ORIGINAL PAINT WHICH HAS NOW TAKEN ON A VERY FADED APPEARANCE. PAINTED WHITE ON THE INSIDE.

LOCK NO LONGER PRESENT AND HAS BEEN REMOVED. EXPECTED LOSSES TO METAL WORK AND SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK.
