19TH CENTURY HAND PAINTED CHEST OF DRAWERS CIRCA 1870.

HERE WE HAVE A CHEST OF DRAWERS THAT IS FULL OF CHARACTER. HAND PAINTED IN A DEEP RED COLOUR SCHEME WITH A RAG WORK EFFECT OVER THE TOP TO SIMULATE THE GRAIN OF THE TIMBER.

SLIGHTLY OVER SAILING TOP DRAWER BELOW THE TOP SURFACE, WITH 2 DRAWERS BELOW FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY A TURNED COLOUR. LARGE DEEP DRAWER BELOW, STANDING ON A SHORT PLINTH BASE. EACH DRAWER IS FITTED WITH THEIR OWN ORIGINAL LEATHER LOOPED HANDLE.

GREAT LOOKING PIECE OF FURNITURE THAT WOULD WORK IN THE MODERN INTERIOR OR EVEN AN ARTISTS STUDIO.

OBVIOUS WEAR AND SURFACE MARKS TO PAINT AND WOODWORK, EVIDENCE OF BEING NEAR A FIREPLACE DURING ITS LIFETIME AS IT GLAZED THE PAINT, WHICH ONLY ADDS TO ITS CHARM.
