Description

This unusual Swedish dug out chair, circa 1890, was carved from a single tree trunk in the Gothic Revival taste. The profusely hand carved pine tub chair features shaped arms with floral and acanthus leaf decoration, a grotesque face to the reverse and a humorous back rest carving of a man at the dentist. Later painted in a flesh coloured paint, it shows only minor surface marks and makes a wonderful talking point for the hallway.
