Description

This French ormolu six-candle candelabra, circa 1880, is a fine example of 19th century chiselled craftsmanship in the Rococo style. Stamped with a hexagonal pattern throughout, it carries six arms — five on the lower tier and one elevated at the centre — each adorned with acanthus leaf detailing, and stands on five scrolling legs with further acanthus detail. There is minor discolouration consistent with age.

FINE QUALITY CHISELLED ORMOLU CRAFTSMANSHIP ON THIS PIECE. STAMPED WITH A HEXAGONAL PATTERN ALL OVER. SIX ARMS, FIVE ON THE LOWER TIER AND A FURTHER ARM IN THE CENTRE IN AN ELEVATED POSITION, EACH DECORATED WITH ACANTHUS LEAF DETAILING.

STANDING ON 5 SCROLLING LEGS WITH FURTHER ACANTHUS LEAF DETAILS.
