Description

This French mahogany chiffonier sideboard, circa 1880, carries Victorian character with Aesthetic Movement influences. Made in rich mahogany, it comprises two sections: an ornately carved gallery with shelf and two small mirrors above the main surface, and pierced fretwork with Eastern influence below. One drawer is missing and one mirrored section shows plate loss; the top has been restored and the piece recently fully re-polished in our workshop.

CHIFFONIER WITH AESTHETIC MOVEMENT INFLUENCES, MADE IN RICH MAHOGANY.

COMPRISING OF 2 SECTIONS. THE TOP SECTION WITH CARVED ORNATE GALLERY AND SHELF, BELOW WHICH 2 SMALL MIRRORS ABOVE A FURTHER SHELF LEADING DOWN THE MAIN SURFACE. PIERCED FRETWORK WITH EASTERN INFLUENCE.

BOTTOM SECTION IS MADE UP OF 1 LARGE SHELF AND 1 FITTED DEEP DRAWER (1 DRAWER MISSING)

1 EDGE SPLIT TO TOP SURFACE, WHICH HAS BEEN RESTORED, EXPECTED MINOR SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK, PLATE LOSS TO 1 OF THE MIRRORED SECTIONS WHICH IS VISIBLE IN PICTURES. RECENTLY FULLY RE-POLISHED IN OUR WORKSHOP.
