Description

This Scandinavian chest of drawers, made in solid oak around 1790, offers generous proportions with four shaped drawers, ornate brass handles and key plates, standing on shaped cabriole legs. Designed in two sections so it could be installed through smaller doorways, it now wears later paint in a desirable faded blue with later brass hardware. Minor age splits to the top surface leave it stable and ready for everyday use.

MADE FROM SOLID OAK THIS 4 DRAWER COMMODE OFFERS GENEROUS PROPORTIONS.

4 SHAPED DRAWERS WITH ORNATE BRASS HANDLES AND KEY PLATES. DUE TO THE SIZE OF THE CHEST, WHEN IT WAS MADE IT WAS DESIGNED IN 2 SECTIONS SO IT COULD BE INSTALLED INTO SMALLER PROPERTIES, AND DOOR WAYS.

STANDING ON 4 SHAPED CABRIOLE LEGS.

LATER PAINT WHICH HAS SINCE TAKEN ON A DESIRABLE FADED APPEARANCE, LATER BRASS HARDWARE. MINOR AGE SPLITS TO WOODWORK ON TOP SURFACE, BUT STABLE AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
