Description

This mahogany pedestal desk by Hobbs & Co of London, circa 1900, is stamped by the maker and takes its elegant character from the Adams style, with a shaped front, applied carvings to the drawers and doors, and mahogany-lined drawers. The original three-part leather writing surface shows expected marks from use, and there are restorations to the sides alongside an age split inside the left pedestal.
