Description

This low open bookcase by Swedish makers SMF Bodafors is a fine example of a well-known mid century model, circa 1950. Veneered in elm with burr detailing that offers a pleasing contrast, it features a central brass-handled drawer, open storage apertures, a single-door cupboard and an adjustable shelf for books or display. Recently re-polished by hand in our workshop, it stands on tapered legs with minor surface marks and very slight crazing to the interior base veneer.

FINE EXAMPLE OF A WELL KNOWN MODEL BY SWEDISH FURNITURE MAKERS SMF BODAFORS.

VENEERED IN ELM ON THE TOP AND SIDES WITH ROUNDED TOP CORNERS. CENTRAL DRAWER FITTED WITH A BRASS HANDLE, FLANKED EITHER SIDE BY OPEN STORAGE APERTURES. FITTED WITH A SINGLE DOOR CUPBOARD TO THE LEFT HAND SIDE WHICH IS MADE WITH THE SAME BURR MATERIAL, WHICH OFFERS A GOOD CONTRAST TO THE STANDARD ELM. MAIN STORAGE AREA IS FITTED WITH A SINGLE SHELF, WHICH OFFERS PLENTY OF STORAGE FOR BOOKS OR DISPLAY ITEMS. STANDING ON TAPERED LEGS.

IDEAL PIECE OF FURNITURE THAT OFFERS MAXIMUM STORAGE WITHOUT TAKING UP A LARGE FOOTPRINT.

RECENTLY FULLY RE-POLISHED IN OUR WORKSHOP BY HAND. GOOD RICH COLOUR. MINOR SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK. VERY SLIGHT CRAZING TO VENEER ON BASE OF INTERIOR.
