Description

This Scandinavian pine log basket, circa 1890, is a rare survivor in intact condition. A sturdy pine frame with lattice strips on the sides forms a strong box that has stood the test of time, with slightly later metal brackets added for extra strength. Showing minor surface marks and fading but no breaks, it works beautifully as a log bin or for other storage.

WE ARE PLEASED TO BE ABLE TO OFFER SOMETHING SO RARE TO BE INTACT. MADE USING PINE TO CREATE A FRAME WHICH THEN HAS LATICE STRIPS ON THE SIDES TO CREATE A STRONG BOX WHICH HAS STOOD THE TEST OF TIME.

IDEAL FOR USE AS A LOG BIN BUT HAS MANY OTHER STORAGE POSSIBILITIES. SLIGHTLY LATER METAL BRACKETS APPLIED FOR EXTRA STRENGTH.

MINOR SURFACE MARKS AND FADING, BUT NO BREAKS.
