Description

This Scandinavian birch chest of drawers, circa 1870, is a good quality Swedish piece in the Empire style, fitted with four drawers of equal proportion beneath a two-plank top with rounded front edge and moulding. Each pine-lined drawer has a working lock and key; true to Swedish tradition there are no handles, the drawers opening on the key. Recently re-finished and hand re-polished in our workshop, it retains a rich golden colour that shows the grain beautifully, with previous worm damage to one lower side filled and restored.
