HAND PAINTED FLORALS TO THE LID WITH INITIALS MJD AND AN ANNO DATE OF 1797. LIKELY TO HAVE BEEN A GIFT OR CELEBRATION OF SOMEONES BIRTHDAY/LIFE.
NEAR SQUARE IN SHAPE THE LID OPENS TO REVEAL AN UNPAINTED INTERIOR FOR STORAGE. FURTHER PAINTING USING A KURBIT TECHNIQUE TO THE FRONT. RAISED ON SMALL BUN FEET.
VERY GOOD CONDITION FOR AGE, MINOR SURFACE FADING AND READY FOR EVERYDAY USE.
