Description

This Swedish chest of drawers, hand painted in pine and dating to circa 1800, is a fine quality piece of real folk art character. Fitted with four graduating drawers that open on the key, it wears bold red paint rubbed through to reveal the grain beneath, with a contrasting faux marble hand painted top showing gentle wear. Standing on bracket feet, it carries expected surface marks and a small loss to the back edge of the top.

FINE QUALITY CHEST OF DRAWERS, FITTED WITH 4 GRADUATING DRAWERS THAT OPEN ON THE KEY. BOLD RED PAINT THAT HAS WORN THROUGH, NOW SHOWING THE GRAIN OF WOOD UNDERNEATH. CONTRASTING FAUX MARBLE HAND PAINTED TOP SURFACE, WHICH IS NOW SHOWING SIGNS OF WEAR.

STANDING ON BRACKET FEET.

SOME EXPECTED SURFACE MARKS TO WOODWORK, FADING AND RUBBING TO PAINT. SMALL LOSS TO BACK EDGE OF TOP, WHICH IS PHOTOGRAPHED.
