Description

This large Swedish painted pine bench, circa 1890, carries a wonderfully rustic character. Dry scraped through its layers of lifetime paint, it reveals traces of three different colours alongside bare pine, with a shaped backrest, scrolling arms and half cut spindle supports. The lift-up seat offers generous storage, and it would comfortably seat four in a hallway or kitchen.
