Description

This early 20th century lacquered vanity box, circa 1910, is a good quality Chinese export piece in pine, hand painted in a plum and black colour scheme with a lacquered finish. Cube shaped, it has a naive mirrored double door revealing two concealed drawers and one below, while the top surface flips up as a mirror. Hand carved to each side, it shows obvious minor losses to the woodwork and lacquer.

GOOD QUALITY CHINESE EXPORT TABLE TOP VANITY BOX. HAND PAINTED IN A PLUM AND BLACK COLOUR SCHEME IN A LACQUERED FINISH.

CUBE SHAPED WITH A NAIVE MIRRORED DOUBLE DOOR TO THE FRONT WHICH OPENS TO REVEAL 2 CONCEALED DRAWERS AND 1 BELOW. TOP SURFACE FLIPS UP TO MAKE AN IDEAL MIRROR FOR COSMETIC PURPOSES. HAND CARVED TO EACH SIDE, PLEASE SEE PICTURES.
